WCTV members are constantly out all over town,
videotaping scenes to use in their programs. Whether
it’s a meeting, concert, sporting event, or local ceremony,
there’s a good chance you’ll see one or more volunteers
on the scene with portable camera gear.
Once the footage has been shot, it needs to be brought
back to our studio facility and edited before it can air on
WCTV. Members can perform this task in one of our two
computer-based video editing rooms.
WCTV’s facility has two separate editing rooms in order
to accommodate member preference for computer
platforms. Be they Mac enthusiasts or Windows Warriors,
our members are able to edit their projects on our computer
video work stations.
Edit Bay 1 consists of side-by-side work stations, each
equipped with a Macintosh Pro computer, a digital video
tape deck, and two S-VHS videotape machines.
Editors can load in footage from digital or analog video
tape, or external USB hard disk drives.
The Mac Pro edit stations are set up with Apple’s
Final Cut and iMovie software, as well as the Toast DVD
authoring application. There are also add-on programs for
adding video titles and special effects.
WCTV members have access to these editing stations
as well as the training on how to use them.
Edit Bay 2 consists of side-by-side Windows based work
stations, each equipped with a DELL PC, a digital video tape
deck, and two S-VHS videotape machines.
As in the Mac Edit Bay, editors can load in footage from
digital or analog video tape, or external USB hard drives.
Members can edit their video in Adobe Premiere Pro or
Premiere Elements, create graphics using Photoshop and
concoct animated special effects using Adobe AfterEffects
and Ulead Cool 3D Production Studios. DVD programs can
be put together using Adobe Encore or Ulead DVD Movie
Factory.
WCTV members have access to these editing stations
as well as the training on how to use them.
