Jazz Access is a three-hour program that
plays Jazz and American Classics “in the
wee small hours of the morning.”
The show is hosted by WCTV Operations Manager Bill Robert,
an avid jazz fan for many years and radio air personality for
almost two decades.
On “Jazz Access” you can hear many variations of Jazz music,
including Dixieland, Big Band Swing, and, of course, BeBop. Many
of the selections featured come from what is known to many as
“The Great American Songbook”, consisting of timeless tunes by
such greats as Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, Harold Arlen, Jimmy
McHugh.
The roster of artists represents the many dialects of jazz,
including: Charlie Parker; Dizzy Gillespie; Louis Armstrong;
Thelonious Monk; Ella Fitzgerald; Dexter Gordon; Frank Sinatra;
Oscar Peterson; Dinah Washington; Fats Waller; Art Tatum;
Tony Bennett; and newer artists such as Jane Monheit, Benny
Green, and Michael Buble.
“Jazz Access” can be heard Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday
nights from midnight until 3:00 a.m. here on WCTV Cable Radio.
